I've got a C that I'm cleaning up and my questions are two right now: 1) anyone know of a good chromer in the Detroit area (I've found a biker shop, but they are not cheap, talking about $50/handle); 2) What paint should I use on the inside of the stove? In the Big Bertha pics you can see the cabinet painted black. That is what I plan to do, but have been warned that paints that have toluene in them will gas when they get hot and smell. I've used water-based high-temp paints on wood stoves and am thinking about that for the Chambers. Any ideas welcome. Thanks,
    Joseph

There are many shops doing chroming in the Metro Detroit area. Warren, Centerline and Ferndale offer quite a good selection. Most are motorcycle based which makes them a good source as they are familiar with doing smaller parts and orders. I am currently investigating these shops for future work and will be glad to keep you abreast of my findings. One thing guaranteed, it will not be inexpensive.

You bet, keep me posted on your findings. The shop I found was recommended by the Detroit Brothers, so it's top notch.
